My name is Liga Rudzite, I am 40 years old and I am wheelchair user. In June 2020 I suffered a Subarachnoid haemorrhage which has left me with left-sided hemiparesis as well as significant cognitive difficulties, including short term memory loss. After 10 months in hospital I am still in recovery at home where I am working on physiotherapy and memory training exercises every day.

Before my injury I used to love traveling and exploring new places, I have travelled around the world. However now I am in a wheelchair it is more complicated and difficult to negotiate visiting and traveling to places I don’t know much about, as I don’t know if I would be able to get there in a wheelchair.

The purpose of this blog/website is to (1) collect information and evaluate the accessibility of various places in the Lincolnshire area where I live with the hope that it could be a useful resource for others who, like me, have accessibility issues and (2) build a network and make connections with other people in the county and beyond who also need to negotiate accessibility to places on an everyday basis.
